Nashville Wedding Recap – Amanda and Rory

Creative couple Amanda and Rory were married September 5, 2010 in a beautiful evening rooftop ceremony overlooking downtown Nashville. This couple wanted to be sure infuse a lot of their own personalities into their wedding while thinking outside the box and doing some unconventional things at the same time. They kept the color palate minimal using blacks, white, and taupes, with pops of green. The bride loved bold accents like jewelry and long-stemmed calla lillies which she carried as her bouquet wrapped in black Chantilly lace. The bridesmaids carried a simliar bouquet of white roses and mini calla lillies by Brocade Designs to accent their flirty taupe dresses.

Amanda and Rory’s rooftop ceremony was one of the most touching I have ever witnessed (and I have witnessed a lot!). The couple wrote their own vows that illustrated how deeply in love they were with one another. McLellen Style photography captured breathtaking photos of the moment. Check them out below!

After the ceremony, the guests headed inside for the cocktail hour while we flipped the space into a modern reception site. We worked heavily with the venue Aerial to come up with the reception design and décor. The couple again wanted to keep things simple, and this was easy as the dimly lit view of the Nashville sky spoke for itself. Merchant’s handled the delicious food, and the Nick Carver Band kept guest on their feet with an eclectic mix of songs like Honkeytonk Badonkadonk, Brown Eyed Girl, and Hey Ya. Amanda and Rory enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife to the Zac Brown Band’s Whatever It Is to kick off a night of celebration.

Congratulation and best wishes to the stunning couple!
