Gift Registry “How To’s”, Part 2 of 2

Over the years we’ve seen couples register for some pretty neat stuff, but what about websites that are specifically designed for the out-of-the-ordinary gifts? Today, we’ve outlined some of the websites we’ve found that are most unique and most entertaining.

Honeymoon Registry—One creative approach to gift registries is to ask that guests help make your honeymoon especially memorable. Many hotels like the Marriott offer registries through the hotel and there are also independent websites such as www.TravelersJoy.com that specialize in honeymoon registries. When you register for a honeymoon, guests can contribute to your airfare, pay for fun activities like snorkeling, purchase a bottle of wine for you to enjoy at dinner, and much more!

Home Registry—We are so glad to have discovered www.HatchMyHouse.com. This site is maybe one of the more hilarious options that we’ve seen. The website allows you to create an interactive version of your future home that guests can explore and contribute to. Visitors to you site can give you a dining room table, a set of dishes, or even your front door! As more gifts are purchased the house begins to fill in with them.

Tickets and Events Registry—Websites like www.WeddingTicketRegistry.com advertise “Tickets not Toasters.” That is to say, you can register for tickets to just about any event you can dream of rather than traditional gifts. The website doubles as a search engine, because when you create the registry you can search events by title, city, or date. The entire process is extremely easy to use.

Charity Donation—Maybe not as new and modern as some of these other options, but charity donations are still one of our favorites! This is a wonderful way to make a sizeable contribution to a charity close to your hearts and say something about you as a couple at the same time. There are tons of websites now that streamline the process and make it user-friendly for guests, including www.IDoFoundation.org. You can also work directly with your charity of choice.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our tips and ideas this week on creating your wedding registry!
