This past year I was quite surprised that we had two August weddings that we worked on as August is typically not a favorite month to get married here in Nashville due to the extreme heat and humidity. However we had a blast working with Ishita & Richard to create a fun summer wedding for all their family and friends and we were able to make it happen on a tight budget which is always a bonus! For this wedding I also had the opportunity to work alongside my fantastic husband, photographer Brian Kaplan, and all images are provided by him!
Ishita loved blue so we decided on a color palate of shades of blue, ivory, chocolate brown, and pops of light green. The bride carried cream roses, blue hydrangea, and blue bells while the bridesmaids carried bouquets of cream roses, blue hydrangea and greenery. The boutonnieres were also comprised of cream roses. The ceremony was held at West End United Methodist Church with the reception at Hermitage Golf Course. We purposely kept all the decor simple and then splurged on a few items that would really stand out, like colorful linens. Photography was also very important to the couple so we made sure there was adequate room for that in the budget as well.
Richard and Ishita wanted to bring in a bit of their respective heritages (Ishita’s family is from India while Richard’s is from China) so the menu choices for dinner buffet reflected that. Also the bride’s family made blue velvet bags filled with toasted almonds as favors for the guests. After dinner the guests danced the night away to a jazz band led by amazing vocalist, Rachel Pearl!
Big thank you to all of the amazing vendors who made this wedding possible, it was truly a lovely summer affaire!
