I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday this past weekend and were able to enjoy the company of family and friends! My husband and I travelled to my hometown outside of Boston this year to spend some time with my immediate and extended family in the northeast and we had a great time. I always love visiting with relatives and getting to see my high school friends and just spending a few days relaxing and eating delicious food.
But now it’s back to work and I seriously can’t believe we are winding down 2010 with only a few more weeks to go and one more wedding for the year! I had some time to think about it all over the last few days and I am truly so blessed to get to do what I love every day. And it’s all thanks to some very important people.
First and foremost, my amazing assistants, Ashley and Alex who work their butts off at each and every wedding and event and (almost) never complain. They have been so dedicated to learning everything they can about how to manage a successful event and I’m so happy that they still love weddings as much as I do (even after many long 15 hour days).
I’m thankful for my wedding BFF, Hillary Robson with Brocade Designs, who is always so insanely supportive of everything I do and keeps me laughing all the time. I don’t think I’d make it through each day without our hilarious email conversations. She’s not only a crazy talented florist that I love to work with but also a very close friend and I’m lucky to have her.
I’m thankful for ALL of our Simply Stunning clients without whom I wouldn’t have such a fun job. I thank you every day for putting your trust and faith in my team and I and allowing us into your lives to help plan your wedding day.
To all the Nashville wedding vendors, venues, and bloggers – you rock! I seriously believe we have one of the best wedding communities in the country. You’re all so good at what you do and I’m lucky to call many of you my friends.
And finally, I’m thankful for my husband for supporting me on this crazy journey and putting up with my “wedding talk” every day and night. I would never be able to do this without him and his great advice, creative ideas, and computer/internet/blog help.
With all that said, I can’t wait to finish this year on a great note with one final wedding on December 18th (a cozy, winter wedding with lots of whites, ivories, sparkle, and a touch of Old Hollywood glam, yay!) and then celebrate my absolute favorite holiday of the year…Christmas!! (and don’t hate me but I’ve already been listening to Christmas music since like mid-October…another reason why it’s truly amazing my husband puts up with me).
A late Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
