What better way to celebrate graduating from medical school than with a fabulous wedding?! In just one weekend, Karen became a doctor and a wife, and I know she will embrace both roles with ease. I am so happy I had the privilege of working with Karen and Austin to create their dream wedding. Their love for each other and excitement for their future together made my job a breeze. And they are just hands down the sweetest couple!! The May affair turned out to be everything Karen imagined- elegant, timeless, and romantic. The couple picked blue, pearl, and silver as the color scheme, and then Hillary with Brocade Design worked her magic to create the beautiful floral arrangements and designs you see below. Brocade combined shades of pearl and grey with blues and lilacs to create contemporary flavor and vintage inspiration.
The ceremony took place at Scarritt Bennet. Brocade created a warm atmosphere using candles, blue and ivory hydragea with white roses, and vases filled with green lily grass. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in royal blue dresses, but the bride took everyone’s breath away in her vintage inspired gown, holding white calla lillies, roses, and orchids.
The celebration continued at War Memorial. The large auditorium was transormed into a warm and inviting atmosphere thanks to Brocade’s amazing centerpieces and Connie Duglin’s blue and metallic linens. The couple chose a cajun style buffet dinner catered by the wonderful Chef’s Market. Their delicious wedding cake was made by Maple’s Wedding Cakes, decorated with platinum and pearl ribbons wrapped in pearl beading. After enjoying the mouthwatering cajun seared salmon and buttercream white chocolate cake, the guests danced the night away with the Top Tier band, whose energy never fizzled.
Karen and Austin surprised the group with a performance by Chinese dancers to respect the bride’s heritage. The mixture of Chinese and Southern cultures created a unique and unforgetable event. After the happy couple danced their last song to “Only You” by the Platters, they made their grand exit. Their friends and family gathered with sparklers to see them off.
I hope you enjoy the beautiful photos by McCoy Made, congrats Karen and Austin! I can’t wait for you to move back to Nashville this summer!
