Several weeks ago we began one of our busiest seasons of the year (part deux of wedding season will occur in the fall) and we’ve already seen several amazing couples walk down the aisle this year and we’ve got quite a few more to go in the coming months. Since it’s tough for me to find time to write lengthy and insightful blog posts this time of year, I figured I would at least drop a quick note to let our clients, friendors (that’s friends + vendors), and fans know what we’ve been up to and what fun things are coming up.

The inquiries are rolling in for spring of 2013 so if you are in need of a wedding planner, I’d love to chat! We offer two tiers of packages that suit a range of budgets and like this year, we will be taking a limited number of weddings in 2013 to be sure that we can meet all of our clients needs and give each couple our utmost attention.

Last week we said goodbye to our fantastic winter/spring intern, Terral and I am so sad to see her go but totally happy for her (and not-so-secretly jealous) that she’s off to Paris this summer. Fortunately for us, she’ll be back in Nashville this fall to assist us on events when needed. Next week we welcome our new spring/summer intern, Rebecca and I’m also going to be giving an official blog-introduction to our newest event assistant, Jennifer, in the coming weeks because she rocks!

The Simply Stunning team will be headed out on the road this month for our largest, out-of-state wedding to-date. We’re off to Shreveport, Louisiana! I am beyond excited for this beautiful couple’s wedding and it will be quite the adventure as we road-trip-it along with several other amazing Nashville vendors. Sarah carried an elegant bouquet of Calla Lillies, created by Hilary at Brocade Designs which reflected her simple and classic style.

Jen and Chris Creed Photographers captured the day, and got some particularly stunning shots of the couple right after the ceremony. We love how their genuine smiles in every single photograph. It perfectly captures the feel of the day!

Sarah and Wayne wanted a more modern feel to the reception, which was a wonderful fit for their chic reception venue, the Hutton Hotel! The entire space seemed to glow purple as guests entered. The remarkable purple centerpieces made a huge impression too!

When the couple entered, they shared their first dance as husband and wife to the tune of Keith Urban’s Making Memories of Us. After a welcome note from Sarah’s father, the crowd hit the dance floor to the tunes of Blue Tone Music and even indulged in some cake. Sarah and Wayne’s cake, baked by Dulce Desserts, was absolutely lovely. We loved the big smiles in these photos too. You can’t help but get a little giddy looking back on them. Since Sarah & Wayne love to travel, they chose silver luggage tags to double as both the escort cards and the wedding favors.

To Sarah and Wayne, we could not be happier for you. Congratulations to both of you and thank you so much for including us in such a memorable day!

Carlie and Todd had their first look at Nashville’s Historic Union Station Hotel. It was an amazing moment for the couple who are so clearly crazy about each other. Brandon and Joy of Joy Marie Photography did an AMAZING job of capturing the moment in the photos below. We can’t say enough about Joy Marie’s beautiful images throughout the wedding day!

These photos of Carlie are just too gorgeous not to share with all of you. Doesn’t she look like she belongs in a magazine? Stunning!

This was one of the most emotional wedding days I have ever seen, between the laughter, tears of joy and screeches of excitement from little Hudson, the ring bearer.

The bouquets, which were a mixture of white lilys, peonies, tulips and freesia and the centerpieces made of stones, twigs and other natural elements were done by A Village of Flowers.

The Hatch Show Print inspired guest book poster added an element of Nashville to the celebration.

Instead of the traditional wedding cake, Carlie and Todd chose to have favorite family desserts. These included Italian Wedding Ring Cookies, Caramel Cake, Coconut Cake, Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Shortcake and Turtle Truffles made by their grandmothers.

With OneEleven being a downtown Nashville venue, it makes for pretty awesome skyline pictures. Carlie and Todd shared their first dance to “You Are The Best Thing” sung by the always great Nick Carver Band. While guests were gettin’ down on the dance floor, others were able to visit the photo booth that was set up by Joy Marie Photography. The guests had a great time putting on the silly costumes and being goofy for the camera.

Smiles filled the crowd as the ceremony began. The wedding party entered to I Got A Feeling, by Black Eyed Peas, a choice that could only be beaten by Now That We Found Love, by Heavy D, which Jennifer entered to. The crowd was awe-struck. Dana Jillian Kelly provided additional music for the ceremony.

After the reception, everyone headed into the ballroom to enjoy a delicious cake baked by The Sweetest Day and continue the dancing that began as early as the ceremony.

The couple’s DJ, Robert Luke, kept the whole crowd going throughout the entire party and the bride and groom were no exception! Chris, knowing that this might happen, even changed into a pair of tennis shoes before hitting the dance floor.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas! The two of you were so much fun to work with and we wish you the best in the future.

The ceremony took place at Scarritt Bennet. Brocade created a warm atmosphere using candles, blue and ivory hydragea with white roses, and vases filled with green lily grass. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in royal blue dresses, but the bride took everyone’s breath away in her vintage inspired gown, holding white calla lillies, roses, and orchids.

The celebration continued at War Memorial. The large auditorium was transormed into a warm and inviting atmosphere thanks to Brocade’s amazing centerpieces and Connie Duglin’s blue and metallic linens. The couple chose a cajun style buffet dinner catered by the wonderful Chef’s Market. Their delicious wedding cake was made by Maple’s Wedding Cakes, decorated with platinum and pearl ribbons wrapped in pearl  beading. After enjoying the mouthwatering cajun seared salmon and buttercream white chocolate cake, the guests danced the night away with  the Top Tier band, whose energy never fizzled.

Karen and Austin surprised the group with a performance by Chinese dancers to respect the bride’s heritage. The mixture of Chinese and Southern cultures created a unique and unforgetable event. After the happy couple danced their last song to “Only You” by the Platters, they made their grand exit. Their friends and family gathered with sparklers to see them off.

Lets be honest, Laurin takes some seriously awesome photos.

Laurin and Don didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony and it was Don’s suggestion to get a photo together before, without seeing each other.

Of course the guys had to get a picture taken in the bathroom of the Hermitage Hotel. This bathroom was voted one of the best bathrooms in the United States.

All of the flowers were done by OSHi Flowers. The centerpieces included a variety of tall, medium and low flower arrangements of hydrangeas and lily’s.

This gorgeous cake was made by The Bake Shoppe.

The favors were an Italian chocolate in these cute little candy boxes. The couple spent their honeymoon in Italy, so this was a very fitting favor.

Congratulations to Laurin and Don! I am so happy that I got to be a part of your special day!
