A Personal Post – My Friend Sarah

For today’s post I am going to break from the usual wedding topics to discuss a dear friend of mine and the struggle that she and her husband are currently going through in the hopes that my wonderful readers can help.

Some of you may remember Sarah Addison who was one of our Associate Planners and before that a Simply Stunning bride. Last year, her husband Ryan was offered a job in Denver, CO and they headed west. I was sad to see her leave but excited that she wanted to grow her own wedding planning business and knew she would be a great asset to the wedding community out there.

Not long after moving Sarah and Ryan learned they were pregnant and the same day they learned the baby’s gender (a boy!) Sarah also learned that she had breast cancer. Sarah is only 25 years old so you can guess how rare it is to be a young woman in her mid-twenties, pregnant, and battling breast cancer at the same time.

Fortunately, Sarah is one of the most strong, upbeat, and witty women I know and if anyone can beat this, it’s her. It’s been a rough road so far but she is handling everything with grace and enduring positivity which I truly admire.

Some of you may be aware that October is breast cancer awareness month and as such I would love if you could help Sarah and the many other woman battling breast cancer.

Sarah and Ryan are facing huge medical bills even after insurance coverage due to her treatment, leaving little money to get the necessities they need their baby boy on the way. To make donations to help with Sarah’s treatment, please visit the following website. http://www.gofundme.com/sarahaddison. Anything you could give would mean the world to this couple as I can only imagine the difficulty of preparing to welcome a new baby while fighting for your life.

In addition, many of Sarah & Ryan’s Nashville friends are participating in the Susan G. Komen – Race for the Cure on October 27th, 2012 and they could use your support! To donate to the Susan G. Koman foundation or to the Addison team, please visit: http://nashville.info-komen.org/site/TR/RacefortheCure/NAS_GreaterNashvilleAffiliate/1337375697?pg=team&fr_id=2679&team_id=236928.

And finally, even if you can’t help financially, please keep the Addison’s in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I know they appreciate all the good vibes!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for keeping Sarah, Ryan, and baby Addison in your thoughts!
